"Aren’t you in the wrong medium?"
"They sort of killed me in the comics. I’m hoping for a job here?"
The wonderful moggietoes drew us amazing suprise!Christmas presents, and I jumped at the chance to art trade it - especially since what she wanted was Loki. Free-reign on Loki. Since she enjoys both movie and comics Loki, my mind immediately jumped to shoving Movie and Kid Loki into the same picture…and…this…happened.
The terrible thing is that I took two whole friggin’ months to finish the lines on this. Two whole friggin’ months. I am just never to be trusted with art trades ever again. Q_Q

Hidden Track: Fiona Apple - Shadowboxer
A “visually-aided” FST released before Transformers: More than Meets the Eye 27 can drop and (probably) shatter any currently relatively-legitimate headcanons we might have expressed in this fanmix. Panels judiciously excerpted from issues 1, 9-11, & 14 to…interpret the Chromedome/Prowl relationship portrayed in MTMTE to date.
Have a bonus track in visual form…
Finally! Finished! Those Loki lines, so: sketch drivel. Every time I do this, I think, “That’ll teach me not to use a ref!” It usually does. :\ Sort of this, season 2 - more cut, not a rookie anymore.
I can never do another art trade, I can’t be trusted with them. QAQ 1½ months in and I’m still here.
Transformers: Robots in Disguise #26 - Dark Cybertron 9 Preview
Maxx and I have gone back and forth over Chromedome and Prowl’s hypothetical reunion so many times that, no matter what happens here, we’re almost inevitably going to be severely underwhelmed. Which, to be fair, is how we’ve felt about pretty much everything that’s been done with Prowl in RiD so far. I know there was no way he could have been on the Lost Light Crew, but, argh, the little glimpses of MTMTE Prowl (characterisation and art) have hurt. We’ll see who’s writing this bit, I guess - though I wish the issue arrangement could have pushed this part into Milne art.
Unless nothing happens. Betting pool is still odds-on nothing happens.
Update: Well, nothing happened. Rinse and repeat post for next issue.
Super-quick sketch in LayerPaintHD again. So quick, in fact, I completely neglected to draw in forearms. Definitely one of those pictures not to be looked at too closely, to say the least.
Maxx and I had been talking about how much we missed the pre-boot Red Robin and this eventually resulted. For some reason, we’ve collectively drawn quite a bit of ‘Tink’ Drake over the years.
Thanks for the follows on my reblog Tumblr! Once again, go follow @maxxderailed if you haven’t already. And if you haven’t followed Maxx’s actual main Tumblr @maxxdick yet, you are missing out, my friend.
Some people who aren’t even following my main Tumblr are following my reblog Tumblr now! I’m not sure if that counts as a success or a failure, but it should count for something. :V
I’ve started using my reblog Tumblr, @jundenial, again, though it seems I’m largely using it for pastel food…
…but to be honest, the reblog Tumblr you should really be following is Maxx’s, @maxxderailed. He curates.
Also: I tend to forget, seeing as most of my ‘followers’ seem to be spam blogs, but - if I know you and should be following you, please tell me! QAQ
For the first time ever, an art collab of ours (lines me, colour Maxx) has exceeded a hundred notes…and it’s on an ‘RP’ art blog that we can never really claim direct credit on.
Oversketch, Undersketch - or: how you can tell the moment I gave up on life because it’s when I started undersketching all my faces like this.
Maxx keeps telling me to post this because he thinks it looks like something from Fuan no Tane in context, and I keep telling him there’s no point because I’d be posting it out of context, but he usually wins these arguments anyway. I generally refer to them as my kodama-muppet undersketches. These months, every time I have a few minutes to ‘srs’-draw at the table, on the computer, I’ve been very slowly working on this Loki art trade. It’s been very slow-going, partially because I have no time, and partially because I have no idea what I’m doing. Q_Q But that’s not the point of this post. The point of this post is Fuan no Tane kodama-muppet.
Oh, yeah, and Happy Chinese New Year!
I’ve always been a sucker for 63!Oblio.
Culmination of messing around in LayerPaintHD over a few nights. It’s super frustrating for someone like me to work in such a limited environment without the advantage of refs (and the program freezing every time I try to move a line - not sure if it’s the limitation of the CCH in general, or my 16gig version), but it’s also the only way I can grab a few minutes of sketch time every other night right now, and I might as well be honest and admit I wouldn’t post anything otherwise anyway.
Life is not living very well right now. I am in a sort of panic-crisis-shutdown-denial mode these days, but existence persists.
Merry Christmas and lots of love! I really appreciate you all more than I can say. Thanks for everything! <3
After seven (QAQ!!!!) years Juju has basically figured out he doesn’t like wearing pants.
(And, yes, Chrys, I somehow felt like I should’ve written ‘Chrysmas’ instead. XD)
That’s the kind of thing you like if you like that sort of thing, I suppose.Maxx
For the past year, we’ve been distracting ourselves with EXTREEM HYPED for Carbine’s Wildstar, projected launch date Spring 2014. It’s been a year since City of Heroes was shut down, and while it hurts that this is yet another NCSoft property, Wildstar seems to promise the closest experience to what we miss so badly, with at least the prospect of sustainability. The sci-fi setting is enough to lure me in despite the wild frontier (as opposed to yannow cities), I appreciate the dynamic, cartoony style, I’m excited for player housing, and they’ve managed to stuff my top three MMO classes in: the bludgeony healer, the gunslinger, and - what I never thought I’d get to play again - the robotics mastermind. …God, I miss CoH. Anyway, the only things I don’t like about it so far (other than the lack of urban structures) are no spaces in names, no height and body sliders…and the uniformly hilarious silhouette across all player races. Everybody keeps their organs in their chests. And I don’t just mean the women - though with the sashaying female run animation, it feels like they should inevitably pop apart at the waist. The Disney-sexy ‘sensibility’ may be commonly accepted in stylised art, but being confronted with the inescapability of pretty much the exact same figure across fourteen (- Chua) race/gender combinations really drives home the lazy design myopia, especially considering the freshness in the rest of the game. In the face of alternatives, though, the pros outweigh the cons enough for me that I’m waiting to pay for box and fifteen bucks a month subscription, even if we’ll have to skip tracts where we’re too poor…just like old times!
With closed beta rolling into press NDA drop, I was finally pushed into doodling prospective alts - these are my most disposable characters and even so I can’t decide: bunny or wing ears? Green serum or full-on Brainiac 5 scheme? If only I could get my hands on that character creator… The Aurin boy is Maxx's; all of these (save the crouching Aurin girl sketch, to be continued) were scrawled hunched over LayerPaint HD, complete guesswork.
